Players & people
Momentum keeps one record per person, however many roles they hold. This guide covers where to find people, how to add and edit them, and how to manage their roles.
Persons vs Players
There are two related lists in the sidebar:
- Persons is the full directory — everyone in your organisation, whatever their role: players, coaches, managers, officials, parents. Use the role tabs (All / Players / Coaches / Officials / Parents / Staff) to narrow it down, and the account and status dropdowns to filter further.
- Players shows only people with the player role — a simpler view with age, status and login access, handy when you just want the playing squad.
Both lists have a search box that matches on name or email.
Tip: if someone holds more than one role — say a coach who also plays — they'll appear on both lists but are still a single person underneath. Edit them from either place and the change applies everywhere.
Adding a person
From Players: select Add player, then enter first name, last name, email, and optionally phone and date of birth. Select Create player — this creates them with the player role.
From Persons: select Invite member to send an invitation covering any role, not just player.
You can also add a new person while adding them to a team's roster — see Teams.
Editing someone's details
From the Persons list, either:
- Select a row to open a quick summary panel (email, phone, roles, recent matches), then select Edit details, or
- Select the pencil icon on the row to jump straight to the edit form.
You can also open a person's full profile page — select View full profile from the summary panel — and edit from there via Settings → Edit person.
The edit form covers first name, last name, email, phone, date of birth and account status (Active, Inactive or Suspended). Active roles are listed at the bottom for reference — to add or remove a role, use the shield icon instead (see below).
Tip: the Change password section only appears when you're editing your own account — you can't change someone else's password from here.
Changing account status
Account status is set from the same edit form, under Account status. Setting someone to Inactive or Suspended doesn't delete their record or history — it just changes their status.
Managing roles and qualifications
Select the shield icon next to a person (on the Persons list, or under Settings on their profile page) to open Manage roles.
- Current roles are listed with a remove button — removing a role only affects that organisation; the person themselves isn't deleted.
- To add a role, choose one from Add role (Administrator, Manager, Coach, Player, Parent, Official or Viewer) and select Add role.
- Adding the Official role also asks for an umpire level (Into Officiating, C Award, B Award or A Award), which gets recorded as a qualification automatically.
A person's full profile page also has a Qualifications tab showing every qualification on file — sport, level, issuing body, certified and expiry dates, and whether it's currently active — and a Guardians tab for anyone linked as a parent or guardian.
Good to know
- The Teams tab on a person's profile lists every team they're on, with a link straight to each one.
- The Matches tab shows their recent match history — fixture, role, result and score.
- A person needs an account (shown as "Login: enabled") to sign in themselves; you can add someone to a roster or directory without one.
