Venues

Venues are where matches actually get played. Set them up once with their courts, and they're ready to be nominated to any league that needs them.

Adding a venue

  1. Go to Venues and select New venue.
  2. Enter the venue's name and, if you manage more than one organisation, choose which one it belongs to.
  3. Fill in the address, city, state, postal code and country.
  4. Optionally add capacity, surface (grass, artificial turf, indoor court, outdoor court, synthetic, clay, sand or concrete), and any facilities notes.
  5. Add a contact email and contact phone for the venue if you have them.
  6. Select Create to save.

Tip: the summary tiles at the top of Venues show your total venues, total courts, and how many venues have map coordinates set — handy for spotting ones that still need an address filled in.

Editing a venue

  1. From the Venues list, select the pencil icon next to a venue, or open the venue and select Edit.
  2. Update any of the fields above.
  3. Select Save.

Managing a venue's courts

Open a venue and select the Courts tab. From here you can add, edit and remove the individual courts within that venue — this is what fixtures and the scheduler assign matches to, so it's worth keeping court names consistent (Court 1, Court 2, and so on) across your venues.

The Availability tab shows a calendar of when each court is free or blocked out, which the fixture generator respects when scheduling matches.

Nominating a venue to a league

Venues aren't automatically available to every league — each league nominates the venues it's allowed to use.

  1. Open the league from Leagues.
  2. Find the Venue nominations card — its subtitle is Venues this league can use for fixtures.
  3. Select venues to add them to the league's list, or remove ones it no longer needs.
  4. Select Save venues.

Only nominated venues will show up when the league's fixtures or scheduling rules ask for a venue. See Leagues for the rest of league setup.

Good to know

  • Deleting a venue is permanent and removes its courts too. Matches already scheduled there will keep a reference to it but won't be able to load the venue's details — so it's best to remove a venue from a league's nominations first if you're retiring it, rather than deleting it outright.
  • Coordinates (latitude/longitude) power the map view — a venue without them still works fine, it just won't appear plotted on the map.
